Our Tour Itinerary
Pick up at your accommodation, the journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains starts. You will spend most of the day admiring the beautiful Cedar forests, rugged rocks, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and start descending into the Sahara desert. Halfway there, you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt, famous for its Minerals and rocks. We continue along mountain roads with views of the wide Valley of Oued Ziz. Passing Kasbahs and palm groves, we pass through the adobe colored city of Errachidia and arrived in the late afternoon at Merzouga, a village on the outskirts of the Sahara sand dunes. After your breakfast, you will discover this beautiful region of the Sahara desert. We visit the fossil village and the ancient city of Rissani. It was once the home of the Alaouit dynasty. It is a cultural destination in Morocco that boasts beautiful examples of early Moroccan architectural styles and notable palaces and temples, such as the Ksar Oulad Abdelhalim. We see men in indigo blue robes distinctive to the Saharan people. We will also visit the village of Khamlia, where you will have the opportunity to listen to the music of Gnawa. Then later in the afternoon saddle up your camels for the journey through the desert sand dunes during a beautiful sunset for about 2 hours to arrive at your camp at night at Erg Chebbi sand dunes. We will spend the night in a nomadic tent, a night full of stars and Berber music around the fireplace of the camp, a night that you will never forget.
Wake up early to see the sunrise over the dunes and return to Merzouga, again by camels, Then begin the journey to Erfoud, exit south of the High Atlas Mountains, and stroll through the towering 310m Gorges of Toudra. The picturesque river valleys make a beautiful journey to the southwest of Morocco. Then continue your journey to another impressive gorge; Dades, passing the strange rock formations called monkey fingers. Night in Dades Gorges.
After an early breakfast, you will depart for the High Atlas Mountains through Ouarzazate. Heading west to one of the jewels of Morocco... Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, In typical Moroccan style, true treasures must be sought and discovered... generally out of the ordinary. Actually, this site has been used for many movies more than any other location in Morocco; films like Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and recently The Gladiator. Lunch can be taken at Ait Ben Haddou. In the afternoon, we will keep driving to the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech, where we will leave you at your accommodation.
